PS: I think you have to be a but more apecif for newbies in regard to the read time. I have a short Form piece with 1 min read and 600 views and 1 Dollar. I also have a 3 min piece with 500 views (90% externally) and 25 dollars. It really depends. As you said on Quora Vocal pays you also for external views. Medium don't.
