I think that you're fine. There are people commenting and saying:

- Hey beauty, follow me and I'll follow you everywhere.

- People selling crypto and penis enlargement (yes, they offered me one too ;))

I'm not Medium but I think your behaviour is totally normal. Sometimes I also stop following people or follow them only for a while when I coach them to give tips etc.
