From my digital marketing perspective it is.. I'd recommend to post a story on your blog (1) and then on Medium. Why? As far as I know Google thinks that 1 is the more important source. I guess you want 1 to be your blog and not Medium. So I'd first publish it in your blog and then on Medium. Hope this helps.
